We offer you the opportunity to learn a new skill whilst on vacation. This can
provide an interesting focus for your holiday and a fun way to make friends.
Classes/Workshops will normally be 2-3 hours daily or less, leaving you the
rest of the day to laze about or sight-see.
Even if you are staying in a
hotel, you would be most welcome to take a workshop with us.
We have currently on offer:
Steel Pan Workshops
These are conducted by the leader
of a well-known, professional
steel pan group in the Grand Anse
area. He will lead you
through the history and development of pan and the basics of playing this
amazing instrument, the only new instrument to be invented in the 20th century.
By the time you leave you ought to be able to play a little tune. Great fun for all!
US$25 per person per hour.
Drumming Workshops
Run by Raymond
who can host small or large group classes at his home in the
country village of La Fillette, near Grenville, St.Andrew's.
You can combine the workshop with a delicious local vegetarian lunch.
The level can be pitched at experienced players or complete beginners - an
enthusiasm to learn is the main thing! African/Caribbean rhythms explored.
Traditional goatskin drums will be provided.
