We had a superb time with the John's, it simply couldn't have been better. They taught us so much about their plants and were so helpful with my numerous questions about Grenadian life. Thank you so much for arranging our stay. We're having fun showing our photos and sharing stories of our time immersed in the friendly culture of Grenada with our family and friends. Introduction

Our hosts' homes are located in many different areas of Grenada and in the sister isles of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. You can choose a location near/ in a town, beach or in the heart of the countryside. The houses range from a simple wooden house with basic amenities to a very comfortable residence.

The furthest point away from our International Airport is only an hour and a half away, and you will never be more than 30 minutes from banks and shops.


For those wanting more privacy, we have self-catering apartments, whole houses, all of which are suitable for groups/families. Even if you stay in these accommodations, cooked meals may be available on request.

If you would like to combine your stay with instruction in yoga, meditation and/or receive massage, reflexology and Reiki treatments from a fully qualified and experienced instructor and therapist, please let us know. If you are a vegetarian, then we may be able to arrange for you to have vegetarian meals.
 

Our prices

They include accommodation, linen change, room cleaning and MAY include breakfast and/or other meals. Rates start at US$30 plus 5% tax per night (single person in the most basic accommodation) and go up to US$120 plus tax for a luxury apartment. A two-bedroom apartment typically will range in price from US$50-80 plus 5% tax per night.

Taxis can be arranged for transport directly to the homes at an extra cost. If you prefer, you can arrange to be dropped to the bus terminal and arrangements made for you to be met by your host off the bus at your destination. This will cost you less if you are going to the outer parishes. The adventure starts here!

Each host offers a slightly different package. More details about the individual houses, hosts and prices may be obtained by e-mailing us. We request a 20% deposit of your total vacation price in advance to confirm your place in a home at least two weeks' before the start of your stay. The other 80% should be paid on arrival in Grenada. The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel less than two weeks before your arrival date. 

You can pay using VISA or MasterCard, or use a bank draft, travellers' cheques, or cash (US/Canadian dollars, Sterling, Euros, or Eastern Caribbean/Barbadian dollars).

A True Blue, St.George's
Room available in family home in True Blue, St.George's. Conveniently located on a bus route for St.George's University (2 minutes), airport (2 minutes) and Grand Anse beach and shopping areas (2 minutes). The room is comfortably furnished, with two double beds, wardrobe and drawer space with both fan and A/C. Exclusive use of adjoining shower and toilet. Shared areas include living room with Cable TV, bar area, well-equipped kitchen with microwave. Laundry room with washing machine. Small outdoor verandah and garden with swing set. Wireless Internet available. Host family is a couple with an 8 year old son. They enjoy outdoor cooking with family and going to the beach. Singles, couples and small families welcome. Second double room can be made available. Breakfast and dinner included. US$60 plus 5% tax per night for single person, US$75 plus 5% tax per night for couple.

B Belmont, St.George's
Set in a convenient location in between Grand Anse (2 minutes' drive) and St George's (2 minutes' drive) on a direct bus route but set back a little from the main road, this home has; a two-bedroom apartment (double beds) downstairs.
The apartment has two double bedrooms, living/dining room, kitchenette and bathroom fans, radio and TV.

C Grand Anse (photos)
Located on main Grand Anse road, this compact 2 bedroom self-catering apartment is very convenient for access to Grand Anse beach and 2 minutes' bus ride from shopping and banks. Friendly, close-knit neighbourhood.
Host family living upstairs. Modern furnishings, kitchenette, hot water, Cable TV, phone. Living room area and small verandah. Meals on request.

E L'Anse Aux Epines, St. George's (photos)
Elevated location with spectacular view of harbour in quiet, upscale residential area. 10 minutes' walk from bus route. 5 minutes' drive from Grand Anse and 2 minutes' walk to nearest beach.
Fully self-contained apartment, 1 bedroom, as part of family home.
Couple with 16-year old daughter live upstairs. Available during May-June and December.

G Woodlands, St George's (photos)
Two bedroom downstairs apartment situated in Woodlands, in the SW of Grenada. 15 minutes' drive from St.George's, and 10 mins.' drive to Grand Anse. Near the Clarke's Court Sugar Factory and the fishing village of Woburn. On a main road but the area is quiet.
Living room, veranda, kitchen, one room with a double bed, one with two singles. Plenty of wardrobe space. Small bathroom with shower and toilet. Hot and cold water, Cable TV, phone. Facilities for hand-washing laundry at the back of the house. Small garden to the front and side.
Owner/host lives upstairs. Older lady recently returned from UK, very keen on gardening. Caretaker also lives in next-door apartment.

H2 Woburn St George's
Lively, small fishing village 15 minutes' from St George's. Great access to Hog island (snorkelling, beach etc.). Simple house in lower part of the village. Use of a single bedroom (fan) and sharing the facilities of the rest of the house. Very basic facilities, but does include washing machine. Lady in thirties with 13 year old daughter. It's set in a close community, also close to the Island View and Rumors restaurants, and jetty. Single women welcome. Self-catering. Bus stops right outside house. US$30 plus 5% tax for single person

Lively, small fishing village 15 minutes' from St George's. A one-bedroom downstairs apartment forms part of the owners' home, in a quiet area of the village, on a small hill with a view of the sea. Short walk to bus route. Kitchen/dining area, well equipped, with microwave etc., bathroom with hot water shower. Bedroom has double bed, Cable TV, plenty of wardrobe space. Outside terrace with quiet garden, fenced around. Parking. Owners live upstairs - older couple from Grenada and the U.K. One small dog forms part of household.

H3 A - Mardigras, St.George's (Photos)
Family home located in the fairly lively village of Mardigras, 10 minutes' drive to the capital. Directly on the bus route. 2 bedrooms are available, one with a double bed, and one with a queen bed. Both are screened and have adequate wardrobe space. Use of communal kitchen, living room and bathroom (use of own bathroom can be arranged). Shower has hot water. Cable TV, use of computer, wi-fi internet connection, washing machine and microwave. Cool and breezy position with a picturesque view of the green valleys below. Breakfast and dinner are included, unless you opt for a self-catering option. Young energetic couple with a 3 year old boy. They enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities, including go-carting, river-tubing, rainforest hiking and motorbiking. Jeep rental and massages are available. A small dog and a cat form part of the household. US$47 plus 5% tax per night single person, US$70 plus 5% tax per couple, half-price for children 5-16, price includes breakfast and dinner.

H4 St.Paul's, St.George's (Photos)
This delightful 2 bedroom downstairs apartment is situated directly on the bus route in a quiet area of St. Paul's, 15 minutes' drive from St.George's. The compound is fully fenced, with a small garden at the back of the house. The kitchen is very well equipped, with all utensils, toaster, microwave. Use of own washing machine on verandah. Small open plan living room/dining room area. Cable TV in living room and both bedrooms. Hot water in shower. Both bedrooms have double beds and A/C. Wireless Internet. Car rental on request. Peaceful and quiet. Can hike up the nearby hills and down into the river, where you can see local crayfish and other river fish. Small beaches in Westerhall a short drive away. Local attractions include the Tower, Bay Gardens and the La Grenade jam and liqueur factory. Host family, couple, with two teenage daughters, live upstairs.

I Mt Parnassus, St George's
Located in a quiet area, like the country and near the town, with a beautiful lush backdrop of mountains and greenery, 5 mins. walk from nearest bus route, however, bus will drop you back directly to the house. 15 mins. drive from nearest beach, 10 mins. from St.George's.
Comfortable downstairs apartment (steps to go down), 3 bedrooms (one with double and single beds, one with a single, another with a double), bathroom with shower, living room area with sofa and open-plan kitchen. Verandah, outside washing area. Use of phone upstairs.
Hosts older couple (Grenadian/Jamaican) living upstairs. Dogs around, beautiful gardens with flowers and vegetables. Atmosphere cool with soft winds. Suitable for quiet couple/group. US$50 plus 5% tax per night per couple

I1 Mt. Parnassus St. George's (photos)
In a quiet, peaceful suburb of St. George's (10 minutes' drive to the centre), two apartments form part of the host family's home. It's a short walk to the bus route. The nearest beaches include Fontenoy, north of St.George's and the popular Grand Anse beach. One apartment has two double bedrooms (with double beds) bathroom with shower (hot water), washing machine, open-plan kitchen (fully-equipped) and dining room with sofa. The other apartment has one double bedroom and all of the above. Both apartments have a washing machine, plenty of wardrobe and storage space. Quiet garden and parking space. Owners - older couple - live upstairs, returned from the U.K.

I2 La Mode, St. George's (photos)
This 2 bedroom downstairs apartment is situated in the quiet village of La Mode, just 10/15 minutes drive north of St. George's. Comfortably furnished with an open plan kitchen/living room. Bedrooms have a double bed in each. There are small grocery stores nearby. Directly on bus route. The owner does not live nearby, but there are family members living close by to advise and assist you. Two lovely flower gardens at the end of the village, that you can walk to and visit. US$55 plus 5% tax per night, (including utilities)/ US$500 plus tax per month (excluding utilities).

J Fort Jeudy, St George's (photos)
Situated in the residential area of Fort Jeudy, this recently-built luxury house is in a quiet, neighbourhood near to a small beach, 25 mins.' drive from St. George's. Two smart and comfortable air- conditioned two bedroom apartments are available in the downstairs. Very spacious living/dining area and well equipped kitchen with microwave. K Westerhall St. David's (Photos)
Located close to the main road in Westerhall, on the bus route for St.George's (15 minutes' away), 2 one-bedroom apartments form part of the owner's compound. Grocery/bakery close by, short walk to small restaurants and beaches in neighbourhood. Each apartment has a double bed, bathroom, open-plan well-equipped kitchen/living room area and verandah. The apartments have screened windows and fans. Washing facilities on property available for use. Owner is a lady in her early sixties, who lives on property, keen on gardening (particularly the cultivation of tropical flowers). US$60 plus 5%  tax per night single or couple (including utilities)/ US$650 single person monthly rate, US$750 couple monthly rate (excluding utilities)

K1 Bailles Bacolet, St David's
On main road, 25 minutes from St George's, in neighbouring parish of St David's. Directly on the regular bus route. Small, secluded beach within walking distance. 5 minute bus ride to Fort Jeudy beach/La Sagesse Nature Center. Quiet neighbourhood.
Downstairs large self-contained apartment, own verandah, small sitting/sleeping area, dining area, kitchenette, double bedroom (2 double beds), ensuite bathroom (cold water). Cable TV (colour).
Large garden with fruit trees/flowers. Generally quiet, sometimes local weddings/functions held upstairs at weekends. Hostess (retired teacher) often on premises during the day. Delicious local dishes prepared daily and available on request. US$35 plus 5% tax per person per night

K1 A Harmony Hall St. David's (Photos)
2 double bedrooms available in a comfortably furnished 3 bedroom house in the quiet village of Harmony Hall, in the SE region of Grenada. A 2 minute walk to the main bus route, 25 minutes' drive to St.George's and 10 minutes' drive and walk to La Sagesse beach. One bedroom has direct access to the main verandah with pretty views of lush vegetation and the ocean, with double bed. Other bedroom has double and single bed. Can sleep 5 people maximum. Internet broadband, microwave, Cable TV, use of own bathroom with solar heated water, washing machine available. Full screening throughout house. Can choose self-catering, meals on request or full board options. Owner/hostess in early sixties, lives in, recently returned from U.K. Enjoys sightseeing, beaching and socialising. Can attend jewelry making workshop and take a hike to a newly discovered Amerindian stone, in next door village, just a short walk away. Suitable for families, couples, and single women.

2 bedroom downstairs apartment in a quiet rural area near the village of Hampstead in St. David's, nestled into the southern part of the Grand Etang moutain range, making the environment cool and pleasant. .. 10 minute walk to the bus route, 25 minute drive to St.George's, choice of quiet beaches not more than 10 minutes away. The apartment opens out onto a large, spacious garden full of vegetables and flowers. Small kitchenette with microwave forms part plan living/dining area. Self-catering, but can have meals with another family member nearby. Cell phone rental available. Internet access upstairs. Car rental suggested, but not necessary. Owner/hostess lives upstairs, in late fifties, returned from U.K. Interested in hiking, gardening - the outdoor life!

Located on the top of a hill, through a cocoa plantation, this four bedroom house has a large kitchen/dining area with verandah, 2 bathrooms with shower, and cloakroom. It also has an office with the use of a computer/internet. There are double beds in 3 of the bedrooms, and twin beds in one bedroom. About six minutes' drive to the La Sagesse beach. Walking distance to nearest bank, Post Office, small grocery etc. 30 minutes' drive to St. George's.
Lovely garden has a huge variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs that you are welcome to share as a guest. There are also animals for children to pet, like sheep and rabbits. Quiet peaceful location.
Breakfast and daily cleaning included. Lady in her fifties who has lived in the U.K. and Southern Africa lives downstairs with twelve year old son. Car hire, laundry and babysitting can be arranged at a reasonable cost. Massages available.

L Hope St. Andrew's(Photos)
Spacious, modern, comfortable 2 bedroom apartment on Hope Main Road, opposite the playing field. Beautiful garden surrounds home. There is a double bed in one bedroom and a queen sized in the other. Both have adequate clothes hanging space. Living room with TV, dining room and well equipped kitchen. Linens, towels and beach towels provided. Washing machine. Hostess lives upstairs. Completely self-catering. Right on spot for bus service to Grenville and south of island. Nearest beach within walking distance (Atlantic surf). The Hope Pizzeria is within walking distance.

M Telescope, St.Andrew's (photos)
Situated in the newly-developed village of Telescope, close to Grenville, on the Atlantic side of the island, two downstairs one-bedroom apartments form part of the owners' home. Although with one bedroom each, they have a spacious kitchen/living/dining area and the bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. They are nestled in a beautiful flower garden, created by the hostess, and the sound of the surf can be heard from the beach that is a few minutes' walk away. Compound fenced around. Close to bus route/15 minutes' walk to Grenville. Older couple returned from U.K.

N Pearls, St.Andrew's (photos)
Just a few yards away from the Atlantic beach in the village of Pearls, this newly-built comfortable two bedroom house has one single, and one double bedroom, with lots of closet/storage space. One bathroom with shower. It has a large, open-plan sitting/dining/kitchen area, with a fully-equipped modern kitchen, with microwave etc. Separate washing area with washing machine. Cable TV, hot water. Short walk to bus route. Nearest town is Grenville. Pearls was the site for the original airport (you can see wrecks of Cuban and Russian planes on the runway) and an important Amerindian site that has seen lots of archeological excavation. At Easter Pearls sees kite-flying competitions and drag-racing. Completely self-catering. Good for couple/family wanting privacy and peace.

O Plains,St.Patrick's (photos)
Plains is an area near to Sauteurs, St.Patrick's, based around a wide avenue
. It's known for retired Grenadians returning from the U.K. who return to build enormous houses. This well-equipped two-bedroom downstairs apartment forms part of the owners' home, tucked away on a quiet side road, that used to be part of a sugar estate. Both rooms have double beds, and there is a shower and toilet. Kitchen/dining room well equipped, with microwave etc. Large, comfortable living room with big sofas and TV (no Cable, but works with British videos). Small verandah in the back looking onto garden. Compound completely walled/fenced around. Owners couple in their fifties, living upstairs, returned from U.K. Interested in farming, and guests can wander around the banana trees next to the house. Owners have dogs in yard. Local attractions include The Arena nightclub, Bathway beach and the River Sallee Sulphur Springs. US$50 plus 5% tax per night for apartment

P Concord, St John's
10 minutes' drive from Gouyave, (banks, groceries, beach), 20 minutes' from St.George's, the main fishing town on the west coast. Local attractions - waterfalls and a nutmeg processing station.
2 rooms available in 3 bedroom house with a beautiful view of the hills and the sea. Very basic furnishings, esp. kitchen and bathroom, but comfortable living area with TV, homely atmosphere. Nice back verandah with tables and view. Front verandah looks onto main road, but not busy as is quite high up in the village. Bus service from outside house. Two double bedrooms available, with double bed in each. Older retired policeman as host, mainly lives in. Would suit young backpackers, either couples or young men. Meals are not included, but host does enjoy a good local cook-up. Meals can be picked up from young lady further down in the village or delivered to the house at reasonable cost. Host is also taxi driver so can arrange tours of island. US$30 plus 5% tax per night single person

P1 Concord, St John's
Set in the middle of the village of Concord, St John's, the house enjoys a pretty and breezy outlook. It is an agricultural village and the Concord waterfall is 10 minutes' walk away. One comfortable single bedroom available, shared bathroom. Small pleasant living area and large verandah. Hostess older lady with adult daughter. Will have opportunity to observe farming on their nearby nutmeg estate. Meals provided.

Q Petite Martinique
This three-bedroom downstairs apartment forms part of the owner's home. Just a stone's throw from the main beach and close to the main jetty of Petite Martinique, there are 3 grocery stores within 100 yards. It is close to the bank (open Mon/Wed/Friday mornings) bar and restaurant and Catholic church. The compound is fenced around, and the apartment has a small front verandah, shared garden, spacious living room, kitchen, bathroom with shower, and three bedrooms. Two rooms have double beds, one room has a small single bed. Meals can be arranged at extra cost. Older lady living upstairs, in school holidays her teacher daughter and 2 grandsons join her. Dogs in household. Very easy to walk around the island, and is a low-key and safe place to visit. US$40 plus 5% tax per night single person, US$50 plus 5% tax per night per couple. Monthly rate US$500 plus 5% tax

Q1 Petite Martinique (photos)
This comfortable three-bedroom upstairs apartment is above the local boutique and next to a small supermarket. Close to the main beach and jetty of Petite Martinique, it is also close to the bank and primary school. All 3 bedrooms have a double bed. The master bedroom has A/C, a mini fridge and ensuite bath with hot water. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom, and all bedrooms have Cable TV and a DVD player. There is a spacious, well equipped kitchen with a microwave, toaster, coffee machine, and dining area. The living room area has a three piece suite with a CD player. All bedrooms can be locked, and there is also a safe. There is a small verandah at the front of the apartment. The owner is not on the property, but is nearby to offer assistance.  Very easy to walk around the island, and is a low-key and safe place to visit.
Prices for the master bedroom are US$45 plus 5% tax per night single, and US$55 plus 5% tax per night double. Prices for the other bedrooms are US$35 plus 5% tax per night single, and US$45 plus 5% tax per night double.

 

 Another option is to combine a week in a hotel with a week staying with a family, or take a break from your hotel to spend a day or a meal in the home of one of our hosts. Just ask!
